Normally I would venture into more ambient landscapes and experimental sounds, but I wanted this release to be simple and open. Heavily inspired by childhood, fatherhood, watching my son grow up, play, communicate and learn the ways of the world.”

We on INQB8R are always looking for the 22nd Century music which may be not completely understood these days, but which makes a step into the future. When we contacted Michael Brückner asking for yet another presentation of his rich homework in our Showcase, we were surprised how Michael has selected these tracks. They were chosen on a completely random basis, but obviously having some introduction behind. We liked this kind of approach and left the tracks order "as is".

Anyway, almost 10 months passed in the process of remastering and improving the tracks, finding the most proper unifying sound for such heterogeneous stuff. It was not the best period for the worldwide economics, quite nervous for ourselves and sad for Michael, because his father has gone. But now we are proud to bring yet another accurate EP from this gifted German composer, which appears to be the other INQB8R classic.

It's difficult to describe this music; imagine that various cinematic worlds meet the reality, while you're sitting in some Moroccanian coffee shop, listening to the never known electronic avantgarde, keeping a big hangover in your head with a bizarre sense of humor, remembering Yesterday... Nobody knows what these sonic textures are about, and nobody can describe them except Yourself. It's all about when mystery and discovery meet each other, and it's about the world around waking up.

Gernot and Sebastian crank up the bass on this week's RA podcast.

As far as modern Berlin-based acts go, Modeselektor are an anomaly. While others may be content with forging a path down one particular aural avenue, Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary have managed to incorporate myriad styles from their beginnings as Fundamental Knowledge in the mid '90s. Be it electro, techno, dubstep, electronica or hip-hop, the duo can be found meshing it all together (and more) in both their original productions and live shows.

After spending two years touring heavily off the back of 2005's Hello Mom! album with their Ableton-aided live show, Gernot and Sebastian committed their fast and furious mixing style to CD with the third volume of the Boogy Bytes series. Containing a staggering thirty-three tracks, the pair proved that it was possible to traverse from experimental hip-hop through to Radiohead in just over an hour without sacrificing the smooth and natural flow of the mix, and they're set to do it all over again with Body Language Vol. 8.

While their RA podcast might not contain the poppy curveballs featured throughout their latest commercial effort, you can rest assured knowing that the Modeselektor lads have conjured up a cracking selection of techno, dubstep and UK funky—most of which is hot off the presses.

Having had such a strong year, Manuel Tur jumps on board to mix the latest podcast for us here at mono_cult. With his RIBN project with Langenberg gaining huge support around the globe, and his quirky, deep releases as himself, Manuel has found his place in a very competitive market.

Having just set up the 'mild pitch' label alongside Essen bases friends D-play and Langenberg, they are concentrating in pushing the trio's music to another level. With their aptly named 'slow club' night in Essen alongside Gerd Janson, these boys seem to have found a niche which is gaining recognition with all the right people.

As with Quarion, we gave Manuel a blank canvas to create a mix that gives everyone an insight into what music he's liking at the minute. The result is a different, downtempo affair with hints of deep house and disco. Enjoy.

The Cherry Blus Project, a two-people-project from argentina, was one of the first artists on Resting Bell. They are mainly known for more experimental music, field recordings, noise and improvisation. For their “new“ release on Resting Bell they did something you wouldn’t expect.

They recorded a folk record. “The Psychiatric Years EP“ is rescued material from TCBP, about 4-5 years old, compiled into two EPs. All the material is folk music. Songs with melodies and structures, mostly done with guitar and voice. The production sounds really noisy in some places. Hisses, background-noises, rough sketches of songs and ideas. A great meeting between traditional song-structures and a growning experimental background.

Keep your eyes open and watch out for part 2 of this recording.
