"Our guest for this edition is Rotterdam home-based dj/producer Bas Mooy (1976).He has been active on many fronts in the techno scene since 1999. Heavily influenced by a city that breaths industrial strength twenty-four-seven, he gradually found his way into creating an unique dark sound, which lead him to the forefront of the European techno scene.
In 2002 he kickstarted the already legendary Audio Assault record label with label partner Jeroen Liebregts aka Radial, which resulted in the birth of sublabel Arms one year later. Since then the Audio Assault family built a strong and constantly growing fan-base worldwide, showcasing an impressive catalogue with a constant output of stand out twelve inches, setting the standard for today’s quality dark techno.
For many years he has also been a member of the Rotterdam underground collective ‘Strictly Techno’, creators of over a hundred legendary parties since 1996. Bas has played at many ‘top of the bill’ clubs and festivals around the globe and is a regular guest at the highly respected Awakenings parties in Holland.
Over the years Bas has been a hard working and devoted producer, spending many hours in the studio and putting out music on respected labels such as Planet Rhythm, Roots, Fine Audio Recordings, Naked Lunch, Impact Mechanics, Submissions, Patterns, Blank Records and of course his own imprints Audio Assault and Arms.

first time on the CLR Podcast. Giorgio Gigli from Italy is a dedicated
dj and producer with an impressive discography of original productions
and remixes. Apart from his work as a solo artist he is also part of the
project ”Endless”, together with Perc, which can be found on Speedy J´s
renowned Electric Deluxe label.
His very personal blend of Techno is inspired by a lifetime of
collecting and exploring electronic dance music and can be described as
atmospherically deep and thoughtful, elegant and hypnotic. The present

For the 9th Cut release, and the first of 2012, Existance (the
talented Louis Hunt from Oxford) brings us a 3-track selection of deep
dubstep-influenced tracks.
Taking a clear nod from the classic sound of dubstep, as well
as continuing the emotive sounds of our existing Cut catalogue, Louis
brings us three excellent pieces from the vocal-led "Miles Apart" to the
piano-driven bliss of Pelennor Fields.
His sample, synth, bass and drum selections fit very well
together, and his ear for a great melody and strong but not overbearing
bassline is evident on the EP.
Like a selection of our previous output, Existance provides us
something that we can happily listen to on headphones, yet something
equally at home in the DJ bag for warming up the dance.

Eric Delay, our in-home pal, produces his new «Four Moments» EP after a long silence he kept for five years. His last performance was also on Fragment, the 12th release of the series.
According to the artist’s words, while working on new material he had to dive into the «disease of the experimenter»: deny all the familiar sounds of the standard moves, starting with a blank face, not knowing what to get.
A thing has turned out brief but very intense. Quiet stingy sounds here construct an interesting interaction between the «moments», when it seems that everything is connected and the album is more like some kind of weird «ecosystem.» It would be wrong to single out any one of the «moments», as the ideas of each of them find a kind of reflection in remaining ones. But even this may not be so important when it turns out that you are simply listening to the touching and heartfelt music.
«If however go deeper, the data in this four tracks is the prism of winter wanderings. We walked around for a long time alone, fell through the snow like Kerrol’s Alice Lewis falling for a rabbit into a bottomless hole. Black night, the city resonating light, snowflakes… The subject of infinite winter walks and partings. Now I think that actually those 4 months we lived for 40 years, but they were all unreal.»

prompted me to ask him if he could contribute to our mix series,

It is Monday the 9th of January and we welcome back Juan Pablo Pfirter,
one of the undisputed icons of South America´s electronic music scene,
on the CLR Podcast. Pfirter ´s tracks can be found on some of the most
distinguished international Techno imprints and in the charts of many of
the most respected djs of our time. He is an internationally acclaimed
dj and producer, and this year he is actually relaunching his label
MindTrip with three EPs of his own music, including remixes by numerous
intriguing artists. Another EP entitled “Sessions EP”, which he recorded
together with Monoloc, will soon be out on CLR. In the time-span of
more than a decade of djing, Juan Pablo has developed a very personal
style, which effortlessly moves through several sub-genres of Techno. If
you want to experience one of his haunting dj sets, you can do this on
his extended European tour, starting on February 23rd in Rome.

Born in Austria and raised in Switzerland, Alessandro Crimi has
always been consumed by music. He began learning the piano at the age of
eight and later moved on to discover software-synthesizers. Crimi
continues to explore various approaches to creating music, producing
ambient, dub, house and minimal techno, but regardless of the genre he
always keeps it deep and sultry. Crimi’s work has appeared on such
labels as Italic, Broque, Geilomat, Sthlmaudio Recordings and many
others.
On A Night In The Forest, Alessandro Crimi delivers seamless quality
dub techno inspired grooves. Nachtwald opens with echoing chords and
panning effects combined with a steady 4/4 rhythm, propelling the
listener forward. Nebelwald is a gradual building atmospheric dub techno
soundscape, immersing you deep within its floating textures.
Waldlichtung closes the EP with a beautiful soft dub techno composition
with light floating ambiance and textural crackling.
Back in black is M.A.L.A.s return to SERIES media shelves. This record
is ambiented in electronic music roots, with fresh ideas about street
and night sounds. It´s sound is slightly different from his early
productions leaving introspection aside and getting closer to music that
starts in the street and stays in the street. Its a mature compilation
of songs perfect to smoke a joint, make a graffitti, ride across the
city in a bmx, spin on your head and hang out with that special someone.
