Fresh and young talent from Netherlands. Here comes Julien Mier's EP, "Soon, close, maybe too far". "The snow used to be here" and "Sleep in sand" : beautiful electronica tunes, they remind me of Reii. "Life in a teacup" and "A name, a good day" : well-crafted drum 'n' bass tracks, featuing some vocals. Calm and chilling "Sunfish" is the highlight for me, before the last track, mystic and oriental "Over the hill" closes this EP.

Julien Mier:
I'm Julien Mier, 20 years old and studying composition and music production at school of music and technology in the Netherlands. I'm interested in field recording, algorhytmic programs (like Max MSP) interactive sound installations and everything that has to do with conceptual art. My music is very towards ambient electronica but it got as well a lot of influences of jazz, drum and bass, breaks, "IDM" (braindance/complex dance music), melodic electronics. I'm fascinated by my environment and I spend a lot of time walking on the beach and the dunes since I live there. My musical style is very peacefull, different and very mindsetting. I try to take you with me on my journey.
