John Cardema, and consequencially his alias Robot Kaard, whose real name is Carmine De Maria, was born on the 14th of April, 1985, in the middle of the chaos and the timless tension of a strange metropolis such as Naples. His childhood was as simple as most of italian kids' childhood is. At the age of 9 , because of his father's passion for music, and also for his collection of vinils, he first comes to know about the existence of historical bands like Pink Floyd and modern ones such as Oasis, whose music Carmine immediately loves. So it is also thanks to the Gallagher brothers if he makes his first steps into that world of music which he will never leave. In 2002, listening to some classics like Doggystyle and The Chronic, John Cardema starts to become interested in Hip- Hop music. In a short period of time he starts to be particularly passioned in the visionary geniuses of Mush, Anticon and Definitive Jux. It is because of this will to experiment new musical sources and influences that Carmine decides, in
2008, to be an Hip-Hop producer. With nothing but a sampler and a synth, he releases in 2009, with the Italian producer Tex, from Salerno, NA.SA, a free album which mixes Electronic music and Hip-Hop dynamics to send us listeners into space. Still in 2009, after the Ep Paranoid Naples, John Cardema finishes his first full lenght solo record: Electronapoli, in which we have the featurings of american artists such as Teddy Faley and Cave Mammoth and where we can find a lot of different influences from Noise music to Industrial, mixed to create a dark and hopeless mood which flows throughout the whole album. Meanwhile, with the a.k.a. of Robot Kaard, he starts to produce a kind of music which is not far from IDM and classic Electronic music. In 2010 he completes his second
