Format: 4 x File, MP3, 320 kb/s, FLAC, 192 kbps
Country: Germany
Released: 04 Nov 2009
Genre: Electronic
Style: Dub Techno
Written and produced by Igor Arseniev

we′re kicking off the autumn season with a free ep by the uprising russian producer gradient, who presents three classic minimal dub tracks tailored for thinner, focusing on grooves and kicking it gently. ′changes′ comes with a start-stop groove and paints pliant dub chords over a gradually shifting theme. on the second track ′deep performance′ gradient sinks more and more in the wideness between clean dry beats, a discreet shifting bassline and the idea of a timeless groove, giving mood to the whole scenario, similar to what vocal cutups represent in deephouse tracks, whose indefiniteness just is their argument and which transports something like cavity and closeness. very beautiful and floating endlessly. the third track ′seashore′ loves the chords borrowed from the dub tracks, but takes care of everything else than the dancefloor, it′s a friendly and sinister track at the same time which comes very close to oneself. martin jarl, who will soon enough have a new album out on thinner, takes on to remix ′deep performance′ and gives it an entirely new detroit scope, enthusiastic and concentrated at the same time, as his mix is warm, slack but for all that full of vision.

(THN 109) Gastón Arévalo - Austral

Gastón Arévalo - Austral
Label: Thinner
Catalog#: THN109
Format: File, MP3, 320 kbps, FLAC
Country: Germany
Released: 17 Aug 2009
Genre: Electronic
Style: Abstract, Techno, Dub Techno, Ambient

written and produced by gastón arévalo
"austral" is the second thinner release by uruguayian artist gastón arévalo, packed with smoothly gliding tracks which oscillate above the ground. following on his thinner debut "ultramar", which resulted in several gigs in europe, his new ep further refines the cloudy minimalism arévalo aims for. this time he matures his sound and enters dense harmonic spaces with withdrawingly, yet reluctant smooth tracks, which are highly euphoric and magic in their own sense. shining through is deep minimalism, affection to melodies and earthy beats, all sounding like light.

the release opens with the self titled track, which is enclosed by a harmonic pad, framing in the sunspots in a body of minimal grooves. with the second and third tracks "dubois" and "insular" arévalo takes the listener into a sonic rainforest, where bustling humid micronisms crack on the grounds. the accumulated dense sequences add a streamlined imagery to the sounds, with plenty of rest which glow from the inside out, and work on the dance floor more than ever, provided it exists in your dreams.

the final track "relief" is more untangled and gives room for sublime pads, which slowly search for the perfect grooves within conclusive structuring sound experiments. arévalo somehow manages to catch his vision of organic minimalism, which doesn′t orient towards the old masters, but nevertheless reaches similar depth. music which lasts for the change of the coming summers.

(THN 108) Federsen - Social Realism

Federsen - Social Realism
Label: Thinner
Catalog#: THN108
Format: File, MP3
Country: Germany
Released: 20 May 2009
Genre: Electronic
Style: House, Deep House, Dub, Ambient

'Social realism' is the debut release of the london based artist federsen. his debut ep contains three original tracks which drift between gently sequenced chords upon lush beats and subtle details on the fx. this one is for those who like it smooth and atmospheric - laidback electronic music for the pre-summer between the poles of detroit, chillout and house! last but not least we asked sensual physics to complete the ep with a remix for you!

'Nature Of mind' kicks things off with plashy beats and mildly vocoded breathings. the following track 'all things are numbers' is more enigmatic and glances in between hall rooms on a slow 808 beat, while 'epoch' is a tad more uplifting with it's driving chords, twirling effects and detroit arpeggios. last but not least we asked sensual physics to complete the ep with a remix to prepare the people for his coming new album on thinner! his mix builds on a single long stretched chord to later develop into a slender, yet concentrated clubby opener, which is open and warm at the same time.
