En 2009, Dub Tentacles Vol.1 a été l’album le plus téléchargé sur Fresh Poulp. Il était donc logique de recommencer l’aventure cette année. Si le premier volet avait regroupé 13 artistes de cultures différentes, ce second volume fait la part belle au dub Français. Volfoniq, Panda Dub, U-Stone ou encore Barbes.D pour ne citer qu’eux. Évidemment, place aussi au dub étranger, plus précisément de Chine, Grèce, Belgique, Espagne et Argentine. Le style de ce second opus ? Dub, bien sur ! Et sous toutes ses coutures, du reggae roots au dubstep !
Un immense merci à Fabio Vilassana et Tsunami Wazahari pour leur aide déterminante! Et un énorme Poulp Up à tous les artistes présents sur cette compilation !
Dub Tentacles Vol.1 were the most downloaded album from Fresh Poulp in 2009. So it was obvious that we were going for another album this year. As the first volume gathered 13 artists from different cultures, this record spotlights French Dub : Volfoniq, Panda Dub, U-Stone or Barbes.D to say the least. Of course there is some foreign dub featured, from China, Greece, Belgium, Spain & Argentina. Dub in all its shapes ! From reggae roots to dubstep !
A big shout out to Fabio Vilassana & Tsunami Wazahari for their precious help! And a huge “Poulp Up” to all the artists involved in this album !

Pour célébrer la nouvelle année, voici le troisième volet de nos compilations Octopus. “O3” fête par la même occasion les 5 ans du label. Comme d’habitude, on vous a concocté un double LP, mais cette fois avec uniquement des artistes invités, dressant un portrait futuriste de ce que sera Fresh Poulp dans les mois et années à venir. Des contours plus minimalistes ici, textures plus ambient par là, qui esquissent une nouvelle orientation pour Fresh Poulp, sans délaisser pour autant l’éclectisme qui est sa marque de fabrique.
Parmi les invités de ce nouvel opus, on retrouve Padawin, un duo proche du label et dont le premier album est prévu sur FPR courant 2010, tout comme Bankari qui devrait bientôt proposer un EP chez nous. Une fois n’est pas coutume, cette compilation regroupe essentiellement des groupes français, dont certains confirmés, comme les rappeurs de Da Krew ou les dubbers OnDubGround, à qui on doit également le mixage de cette compil’.
Mais aussi de belles découvertes comme Life in A Box (qui vient de sortir son premier LP sur Concrete Curving), D-Drône, Kat Gogolevitch ou encore Para, auteur d’un magnifique EP l’année dernière sur AquietBump !
Impossible de parler en détail de tous ces talentueux artistes, mais il y a de belles rencontres humaines qu’on ne peut taire ! Celle de Komak, partageant de l’alcool douteux autour d’un camion perdu dans la montagne! Ou encore celle d’Elkhor dans un champ de la cambrousse française, il y a quelques années ! Une preuve de plus que la fibre humaine est au coeur de la machine Fresh Poulp.
To celebrate this new year and Fresh Poulp’s 5 years of musical delight, here comes the third version of our “Octopus” compilations : “O3“. As usual we’ve released a double LP, but this time only featuring guest artists, drawing a sketch of what Fresh Poulp will be in a close future! New orientations begin to appear, like minimalist musical objects or deep ambient sounds, even if the label keeps and will keep its well known eclectic trademark !
Let’s have a quick overview of some of the many guest featured here ! Padawin is an electronic duet and label friend that will release its first album on FPR later this year, as well as Bankari, that may present an EP. You all know the international orientation of our label, however this album focuses mainly on french artists, some of them are confirmed, like rap-band Da Krew or dub warriors from OnDubGround, who also provided their science of mixing for the compilation.
But you’ll also find some electronic rising artists like Life in A Box (who just released his first LP on Concrete Curving), D-Drône, Kat Gogolevitch or Para, guilty of a wonderful album last year on AQuietBump !
It would take too long to talk about all these artists, even if they deserve it, but there’s some great human connections we’d like to share! Like meeting Komak and his truck in the french moutain, sharing some strange dutch liquor. Or Elkhor, met in a field a few years ago in french coutryside ! Again a testimony that Fresh Poulp is made of human link !

After his appearence in our compilation "Dub Tentacles vol.1", he strikes back with a full album, "Spiritual Evolution". Like in "Dub Tentacles", Bandulu Dub invites the listener to a trip across the planet, with collaborations from China, Norway, Japan, Germany, Cyprus, Montenegro… and of course France with his label mate Roots Ista Posse. Between Global Beats, Electro-Dub and Roots Dub, "Spiritual Evolution" will bring you lots of musical pleasures. Listen calmly and enjoy the trip!

Vincent Robin aka Duck is one of the Fresh Poulp's "veterans". After his first album "One Way Out" released in 2006, Duck collaborate to Dubosmium's remix album "Green Element" and more recently to Octopus Two compilation, with the hit " CF Underworld ". Since the early days of the label, Fresh Poulp wishes to produce and release a 100% dub compilation. To be part of a planetary dub adventure by presenting an active and international (South America, North Africa, Middle-East, Asia, North America & Europe) display of this vast musical community. This is now done with "Dub Tentacles", the first release in a long series of thematic compilations dedicated to dub music. This first one features a special track from Dubosmium (probably one of the most famous artist from our netlabel) with JSD, singer from Dubzoic (an italian band also part of the album – and future member of Fresh Poulp).
