The Kalimba is a percussion instrument from Africa, sometimes called a thumb piano. It is also the basis for Tim Dwyer's latest album as Full-Source. Its soft metallic tones resonate throughout 10 of the 13 songs, winding in and out of the glockenspiels, synths, beats and other assorted instruments that form the backing track to lyrics exploring themes relating to the metaphorical lantern, ghost and sea of the title. Losing all past traces of high concept space operas and gritty synthpop, 'The Lantern, The Ghost and The Sea' is a mellow, melodic mood-piece, ranging from 'Land-Locked Sea's subtle indie-pop leanings to the childlike singalong of the title track, the nostalgic melancholia of 'Prior To (Now)' and elements of ambience in closer 'When We Lived With Mountains'. ~ Ross Baker

"The Lantern, The Ghost, and The Sea" is a fantastic album filled with swirls of toy instruments, acoustic tinkerings, and mellow electronic pop. Full-Source's 4th full length is the culmination of studio output during 3 years of acoustic driven live performances. 10 of the songs on this album are regularly performed live with stripped down instrumentation. You can support Full-Source further by purchasing the album from him in the high quality digital format of your choice.
