 «'Viandanze Re-imagined' is a short EP based on four original piano pieces composed by italian musician Fabrizio Paterlini. March Rosetta a.k.a. Tom Carter - a well known british musician among the netlabels - has teamed up with Fabrizio and worked on top of the original pieces, adding some layers of guitar, bass, e-bow, drums, etc. until the original 'classical' pieces sounded more 'popular' and more atmospheric.

The first piece 'Forever Blue' is the only one voiced by Tom, who has proved himself a very interesting and talented singer, thanks to some previous works signed under the March Rosetta alias. Tom also wrote the lyrics to this song, which is based in a original piano composition by Fabrizio - like the others, called 'Profundo Blu' (taken from the album Viandanze, released by the italian composer and available here). «Hotel is a Brazilian musical project based on a collective series of improvisation works, founded by Douglas Dickel (input_output, Blanched), and inspired by Joshua Homme’s famous 'Desert Sessions'. Hotel began in 2006 at the Live Studio, in Porto Alegre, when Dickel brought together musicians from the local indie & post-rock scene. Hotel is about the introducing of new artists who never played together before, to each other, for a few hours. The gathered musicians try some spontaneous ideas or rhythms, or pick up stuff.
Songs are written & recorded “on the spot”, simultaneously, and in matters of four hours or so.

Polvos Azules es el seudónimo de Giancarlo Samamé con el cual firma estas composiciones como solista. Este disco titulado simplemente Instrumentales representa su ópera prima. El también es parte del duo de música electrónica El Paso.

Este disco es una colección de 14 composiciones compuestas y producidas entre los años 2006 y 2010, que por fin ven la luz luego de un arduo trabajo intercalado con otras actividades artísticas y cotidianas. Se trata de un disco de música instrumental de fácil escucha, con un estilo muy particular producido por medios electrónicos. Es un album lleno de melodías agradables, ritmos bailables en su gran mayoría y una gran carga de experimentación en cada composición.

Algunas de estas composiciones han aparecido en distintas recopilaciones producidas por Dorog Records: Música para Chacchar (2006) con el tema Reconstrucción del Tiempo y Música Clandestina (2009) con Construyendo Ruinas (bajo el seudónimo de Los Curacas).

Participan en este disco músicos invitados: Francisco Hurtado de Vía 149 en Construyendo Ruinas, Renán Bartra de La Molicie en Torta Espacial, Úrsula Carranza en Cuando la Lluvia Moje al Rio y Eduardo Otayza de El Paso en Torta Espacial.

The Honey Sacrifice was developed as a soundtrack to a film which is yet to be realized. The 13 tracks accredited to the album "Nights in Columbus" reveal the underlying tension between an ever promising future and the stark reality of the present in a ficticious urban zone of Columbus, Ohio. The interplay of the songs represents the struggle, the desolation, hopes realized and forgotten; laid before a solemn semblage of technology, communication and addiction. The various relations of the muscians/actors chronicle the human élan and its creative outpouring through self effacing methods and practices. The Honey Sacrifice asks to remain an album closer to a novel then a proper atmospheric soundtrack. The name refers to a chapter of Thus Spoke Zarathustra: A Book for All and None, an 1883 work by German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. The name's relevance simply states the oppositional forces of things and situations desirable and the sacrifices made to achieve them. Captured digitally in 96 kHz, 24 bit resolution, production aspects were never compromised. Painstaking efforts have been taken to capture all the nuances of the individual performances throughout the soundtrack. Final production and mastering in Weimar, Germany in a spooky coal burning studio with Martin Hirsch behind the desk.

German Postrockers Milhaven, nobody can deny it, are part of the intimate circle of artists that are closely related to 12rec. "Milhaven" is simply the best, Milhaven not only recorded but wrote up to now. Their songs are epic and kinescope, still they never get out of hand or loose the melodic focus. This is classical Postrock, slightly experimental but eventually nothing else than sophisticated Pop music. Sure Milhaven might sound like Explosions in the Sky or Do Make Say Think every once a while. However, what makes them strong and unique is songwriting and integrity.

Milhaven do not flirt with Gothic, Metal or razzmatazz alike, their sound remains that of delay and volume but not distortion, the chamber musical minimum of two guitars, bass and battery. Tracks like "Supervulkan", "Barnabas", "Animal 3K" or the intense, textural "The Trees are in Misery" are songs that will stick in your head, that take you on an aural trip and will enrich your life. What else can music offer?

Woah! It’s Monday once again and here is your weekly fix of Rebel Music. From acoustic to post rock, a flavor of pop and even Brit pop made in Russia we have it all covered in a great selection with  8 music projects from 6 different countries.
We start with a U.S. based project called  Selbyville’‘: “The Quiet Uproar” is a wonderful acoustic track  released on a new netlabel called No Source. We then fly to Germany to meet the work of Julia Kotowski a.k.a. Entertainment for the Brain Dead (and featured on the cover art for this edition designed by Andrea La Valleur) that mixes simple but amazing songs with different approaches: on the featured track,  “Paper“,  you can listen to paper being ripped as part of the percussion section: Brilliant!.
Up north we go to Sweden to meet the work of Nina-me and her track “After seven years of love“. Nina-me’s voice is as enchanting as disturbing and she puts all her feelings in to her work. A must listen!  We continue to Norway to meet the sonic post rock of the The Manipulated Living that have recently published their new work on the Ucranian netlabel Nocharizma. Reminescent of the early works by Sonic Youth, but with a darker and  powerful nordic touch,  “Platypus” is a furious track full of stories to tell but not for everyone’s ears, I agree.
So nothing better than to move down south and meet the happy pop from Spanish singer Jenifer Avila and her song “El Tranvia” (The cable car) that takes us immediately to a certain Madrid of the 80s, Almodovar and la movida. Next track takes us to Manchester in the U.K.  and to the Keyboard Rebel project. Fun, light and with a social conscience I think we will be hearing from them much more in the future.
Back to the U.S. and to a track by Derrick Art, “You’re winning so I quit” from his just released EP on 12rec, “Songs from A Cross (The Sea)“: This is gentle pop, well built with fine textures and taste. The final track I just could not resist and include what was a surprise to me: Listen to Mari!Mari!’s “Get You!” and if you had any doubts about the universality of music this band is a great example: Brit Pop at his best, well structured and with that naivety that only teens can bring into a song coming to you directly from Moscow, in Russia. Take a listen for yourself!

"Abrumado con todas las posibilidades que se podían tener con un PC, me dediqué a probar con todo lo que encontraba y terminaba en canciones, luego saqué el CD y al proponerme tocarlo en vivo recién lo transformé en un grupo de rock, porque no quería tocar yo solo con la PC, quería un grupo y así funcionó".
