Gridline is back with his fifth album. "Compared with previous albums, Evol Waves sounds dirtier, with more noise and distortion and more layers, but still simple. Almost all sounds are synthesized and there is a lot of experimentation with synths." In some way it is similar to Unknown Space, depicting a man alone being taken to various surreal places, but it is more about his emotional reactions to them.

In this netlabel scene, today we can hear many tunes from Russia. Many artists and many netlabels - Russia is rich in musical talents. As you know, we have many Russian artists for techno, house, ambient, IDM... of course, also nu-jazz or trip-hop. This time, a non-profit project for trip-hop and abstract hip-hop, Ru Trip Community visited Bump Foot. They brought us one compilation, including promising musicians playing in these directions. 813 is also featured.

About Ru Trip Community

A non-profit project of 2 people, with the goal to introduce a broad audience of listeners with such directions as the Russian trip-hop, and abstract hip-hop. The project is less than a year old, but has already managed to gather around it, nearly all the musicians of these directions, and a considerable Number of connoisseurs. Community emerged in the social network vkontakte.ru, but it gradually goes beyond it. More recently came the mini-site (ru-trip-com.ucoz.ru). Everything is done purely community effort creators, musicians, and friends RTC - progressively towards young people who perceive music not in the form in which it is imposed on the media.

"These are 10 pieces of electronica and techno featuring old recordings of US President Lyndon Johnson from the 1960's. These were secret tapes he made in the White House of himself with guests. I call the recordings Secret Tapes." Mystified told me so, then I was curious how he created this interesting "session", how the recordings came up and how he met them. "From Mystified's sources, the recordings of President Johnson were made in the White House during his term in the 1960's. Like Richard Nixon, he liked to tape some of his telephone conversations, and a copy of these recordings survived after he left the office. These recordings were then digitized, and Mystified has (legally) appropriated them for his recordings." Again, here are 10 cuts of session by Mystified and Lyndon Johnson. Combinations of hypnotic tracks and presidential recordings.

Bump Foot is running since its foundation in 2005, and it turned 5 years old on May 27. Two months ago, we had got an idea of preparing a compilation, and 5 participants (Karolis Buržinskas, Pics Frunk, Rog, Sequential 3 and Krzho) had responded. As I said before (the release of "Bicolor city"), "Yellow dots" (version 1) is here. 5 colours in cover images came from the participants : one colour by one artist. We made simple background (bar version) and a bit more dynamic one (tile version). With this compilation, Bump Foot started its sixth spin.

When Gozne had released Nomenklatura, it had begun. After that, he made La botica remixes and Tatsu joined to it.
The connection between EPA Sonidos and Bump Foot continued : Tatsu was invited to two compilations : EPA Toasted (epa050) and EPA Frozen RMXS (epa060).
This time, we featured two men behind EPA Sonidos. One of them, Basstk came to bump side, along with remixes.
This EP has deep and dark atmosphere, although the remixes changed it a bit. There are video clips of Manila, one from live set, and another one for remix.

arolis Burzinskas delivered us a soundtrack album. We wondered what Recca was about. Here comes his words.

Recca is an audio sci-fi storytell, philosophical melodrama about young boy who is traveling in time and space. The last words of him can describe all the story. "Even when I am surrounded by thousands of people like me, I can't get of my mind that I'm not from this planet, that I'm living here for a first time, as I'm trying to feel all the life that I'm surrounded, finally I realise, that all my thoughts and feelings are gifts that I can experience in this body, but my phisical body is not real me, if I will have a chance to live in this planet for a little longer, without any doubt, I reborn as a bird." Original Recca story is only in Lithuanian language and there will be no translation of it. It was released in Lithuania last november by K&T physical label.

This OST contains hypnotic soundscapes and beautiful melodies. The last track is a bonus one, completely different style - instrumental rock tune.

"Tape Feedback Tracks" is part of a series of music made using feedback samples produced on a Marantz cassette deck. The samples were achieved by turning up the mic and speaker then moving a hand over the mic to manipulate the sound. The samples were pitched down then used to make a variety of music exclusively with those samples. "Tape Feedback Tracks" focused on combining experimental electronic music with hip hop beats. Some of the other tracks can be heard on "This Wandering Winter" (to be released on Qunabu netlabel) and "Atonement" (Relinquished Records). In the spirit of collaboration, the samples are available in the zip file as Public Domain.
