@Flyafter is a pop band from Jakarta, Indonesia. A very underrated place in the here and now of pop music.
The band was formed in 2004 by Hannan Jaya and Rully Fahrezzy and the setting was completed in 2005 by Rully Luandri. The band´s been playing regularly live from time to time ever since.
Flyafter´s music is a cool mix of acoustic and electronic blends. Dreamy naked acoustic daydreams engaged with long trippy kraut-rock electronic passages. All mashed up with beautiful pop harmonies. They describe themselves as influenced by Britpop and Norwegian alternative music. And we know what they mean.

Although the band´s been around for a while and had played a lot live during their years, the Extended Play EP is their first proper release for the world to know. And now is the time!
Another quality release from 23 seconds netlabel.
And from Indonesia.
Enjoy!

(GI-95) Syntaks - Mistral Moon

Syntaks - Mistral Moon
Label: Ghostly International
Catalog#: GI-95
Format: 2 x File, MP3, EP, 320kbps
Country: US
Released: 06 Oct 2009
Genre: Electronic, Rock
Style: Shoegaze, Ambient
Notes: Released as a free download from the record label website.

Syntaks’ Mistral Moon EP is a free taste of the Danish duo’s full-length Ylajali, comprising two tracks of Syntaks’ densely layered ambient pop. Syntaks’ songs are textural epics in miniature, meticulously detailed shoegaze symphonies built from Anna Cecilia’s wordless vocalizations and Jakob Skott’s breathtaking production. “Sudden Dream” grows from a puddle of Cecilia’s molten coos to a towering climax worthy of M83’s overdriven majesty; “Mistral Moon (Illuminated Version)” presents a slightly sweetened rendition of the Ylajali standout, matching a triumphant melody and heavy-footed beat with distant stutters of distortion and oceans of atmospheric rumblings. To call Syntaks’ music “cinematic” would be an understatement—with the Mistral Moon EP, the experience is as visceral and surreal as a slow-motion sunrise.

Tracklist:
1 Sudden Dream 3:00
2 Mistral Moon (Illuminated Version) 5:24

rec72[025] Phopha - Cities

Phopha - Cities
Label: rec72
Cat#: rec72[025]
Format: MP3 320 kbps, Album
Rlease Date: 04 Oct 2009
Genre: Electronic
Style: Downtempo, Trip Hop, Shoegaze

Bigger cities in western hemisphere are known as vivid and inspiring locations to express yourself. But they also stand for the many unbearable and frosty places in means of social connectivity and dislocation.
This is what Phopha experienced when he went on to study in two different places: “I was feeling down and all those new people were maybe too much for me”, he says and decided to relocate to a smaller town (rather village) to stop his studies and continue his life by selling music instruments.

But some really weird visions on those cities remained and he saw himself wandering through the places over and over again. So the easiest way to get rid off those nightmares, Phopha started making music about the “traumatic” spots (which have fictional names on the album that correspond some of the memories): “That’s why sometimes the songs may sound unfinished but that’s really it, that’s what I was then, fortunately it is all over though.”

Richard Elis aka. Phopha from Czech Republic presents his debut album “Cities” on rec72 containing 9 songs covering the genres downtempo, shoe-gaze and trip-hop music.
The track “Vibe City” contains vocals by US hiphop act Forensic.

Tracklisting:
1. Milk City
2. Kawaii City
3. Android City
4. Vibe City (feat. Forensic)
5. Hopeful City
6. Conurbation
7. Macabre City
8. Cyan City
9. Coffee City

(rec72 020) Bitbasic - Leonard

Are you wandering unsystematically from music blog to community, from myspace to jamendo and backwards to last.fm? But you never met an album which combined all your favourite tracks from your beloved music acts? Then let Bitbasic simply introduce you “Leonard”, a musical aid kit for the moments of your life in which you lack melodic electronica. 12 tracks that cover almost any style and mood that music can deliver so far. For those of you that need a musical analogy: Expect a bunch of tunes on Bitbasic’s Leonard that remind you on acts like AFX, Ulrich Schnauss, Air, Two Loneswordsmen and Steve Reich - no kidding!!!

Bitbasic is London-based electronica artist Simon Haycock. His debut album “Leonard ” on rec72 was entirely produced in one month. “As part of the RPM Challenge, where participant musicians are challenged to try and make an album of at least 35 minutes (or 10 tracks) of music”, Simon says. You shouldn’t miss those bright moments of ambient, IDM and shoegaze on one album!
