f you think the spirit of 80s had completely gone with its music and improvised atmosphere of endless happiness, then you are wrong. It's just in front of you. And it's recreated in this debut long-play by 21-year-old bedroom producer from Russia who calls himself Audiosynthes. Several years ago he started experimenting with electro house and progressive trance music, and eventually realized that he always loved a classic disco sound. But direct copying of the style of Chic or Love & Kisses is not enough for him. Chillwave elements, space, glitch and house rhythms-all these things appear in his music. It's like going to the beach party on some distant planet where the doses of light exceeded all the possible limits, but thanks to the smiles, not the sun. This guy doesn't use any hardware, his studio is placed in one vintage PC and he doesn't make expensive photoshoots on the coast of California-he just makes the sound which bring you in eternal summer without unnecessary chemicals or air tickets. Take a trip with us. Take a trip into the depths of summer

Self-taught from the start, he released his debut solo effort on October 15th, 2010 to much critical acclaim. His first performances were at three 2010 CMJ NYC events in the fall of 2010, where crowds were struck by his unique performance style and professional flow. [LCL 21] Various - Recto Versus Volume 2

Various - Recto Versus Volume 2
Label: Libre Comme Lair
Catalog: LCL21
Format: 20 x File, MP3, Compilation
Released: May 2010
Genre: Electronic
Style: Lo-Fi, Dub, Dubstep, Funk, Chiptune, Electro, Minimal
mastering : Daniele Antezza & Giovanni Conti Artefacts Mastering (Berlin)
cover artwork : Soja Studio

RECTO VERSUS serie : an artist from the label remixes and is remixed by other musicians, coming from LCL or invited.

" After Volfoniq on volume 1, the second opus of the "Recto Versus" serie puts an artist from the label at the center of a vast collaborative work that lasted for one year and spreads over several countries.
Arrogalla and his colleagues expose their vision of a generous and universal musical language, using numerous sonic vocables : dub, lofi, dubstep, minimal, electronica, chiptune, funk, deviant hiphop, ... "
LCL - May 2010

" All remixes are based on a urban reinterpretation of my life's reality. I live in a small town that has agricultural/rural culture in which has been introduced an overbearing urbanization in the 80's.
These elements are in constant conflict and I have represented both their contradictions. A lot of vocal samples come from the Sardinian traditional extemporaneous poetry forms joined to sounds obtained by Casio keyboards and other 8bit instruments.
However, the main suggestion is determined by artists that have shared some emotions and impressions with me..."

[ bandcamp] Zodiak - Gemini

Zodiak - Gemini
Released: 30 April 2010
Genre: Electronic, Hip Hop
Style: Instrumental, Funk

Anyone for Horoscopes? The wait is over! Its been a long one man but i've managed to finish "Gemini" Been interesting, the concept is based off the two faces of this star-sign, so the beat tape has two parts to it. Some of the beats sound like something out of space oddessy, with a lack of sample presence, while the other half uses samples and sound more gritty in comparison. Anyway I hope you enjoy it! Look out for "Cancer" next at the start of May.

[BON 006] Creative Swing Alliance - Strasbourg EP

Creative Swing Alliance - Strasbourg EP
Label: Bonzzaj Recordings
Catalog#: BON006
Format: Vinyl, 12", 33 ⅓ RPM, EP
Country: Switzerland
Released: Feb 2010
Genre: Electronic
Style: Broken Beat, Downtempo, Funk, Deep House

The Creative Swing Alliance consist of the 2 producers Pablo Valentino and Steven-J. Pablo is responsible for the Faces Records label & his recent subdivision called Motor City Drum Ensemble. Steven-J released records on Compost Records, Soultronik & Jazzmin and played double bass for the japanese jazz band “Sleepwalker”. They both come from the city of Strasbourg FR, shared turntables & droped parties for more than 10 years together.

The concept for the CSA Project was very simple: They locked themselves for one week in Pablo's attic to work 7 days on 7 tracks all named after the days of the week. Bonzzaj Records selected for this 12" their 3 favourite tracks:

On “Monday” Pablo and Steven-J created a heavy opener for their project. Bumpy they riding their MPC with a deep diving bass and wonderful synths. Simbad turned the original “Monday” into a heavyweight soulful dancefloor filler mashed with good old West-London Broken Beats. An essential DJ weapon!

Naturally within the week you can hear some different moods while other friends/artists where passing in the studio...for example on "Thursday", when Kira Neris joined the Alliance to create a spaced-out and captivating disco journey with a wonderful soul sample.

Last but not least, “Saturday”: dusty old jazz records and beat generation hip hop for the b-boys and b-girls! RAW! Strong stuff for fans of Bullion, Onra, the Linkwood Family, etc!

Limited edition...so you better watch out!

1. Monday
2. Monday (Simbad Mix)
3. Thursday
4. Saturday

[BSMX 0001] Tha Silent Partner - P Pulsar

Tha Silent Partner - P Pulsar
Label: BlocSonic
Catalog#: BSMX 0001
Format: File, MP3, FLAC, OGG
Released: Mar 2010
Genre: Electronic, Hip Hop, Funk
Style: Instrumental, Hip Hop, Downtempo, Funk

Tha Silent Partner made his first blocSonic appearance back in 2007 on “netBloc Vol. 11: The Raw And The Cooked” with the spaghetti-western flavored “No Mas”. He then re-appeared, along with Unknown aka Formula as MUTE, on “netBloc Vol. 15: this album won’t eat your gas money” with the powerful and soulful “Is It Too Late For Us All”. So, although he’s no stranger to blocSonic, everyone’s about to get very familiar with Tha Silent Partner and his fun, eclectic sound. This maxBloc single for “P Pulsar” is a tasty introduction to TSP’s upcoming Xtended Edition release “Tha Complete Platters Sessions XE”.
To understand what the Platters Sessions are all about, here’s a bit of background. Back in 2007, TSP began releasing a series of “Platters” releases via Jamendo and under his label, Me, Life & Music. The Platters series were an exploration of vinyl samples based on particular themes. The first installment, “Platters Act. 1 (Lounge Music And Exotica)” featured lush orchestration and smooth rhythms. Then in 2008, the second installment, “Platters Act. 2 (The Untouchables)”, went sort of unreleased (more about that in the official XE liner-notes). It featured an episode of the TV show “The Untouchables” infused into a sonic world of funky hip-hop beats and jazzy melodies. Finally, in 2009, TSP dropped the third and final act of the series… “Platters Act. 3 (Tape Deck)”, a sort of beat tape, but with a completely unique TSP vibe.
For the first time, “Tha Complete Platters Sessions XE” collects all 3 acts together along with a bonus disc of outtakes from the period, making for an incredible 3CD set of sonic treats! Add to that the maxBloc exclusives on this single along with the one that’s set to follow the XE release and you’ve got a whole hell of a lot of new listening coming this month!
“P Pulsar” is taken from the bonus outtake collection, “Tha Director’s Cut”. Along with it, this maxBloc also features an exclusive track “Beantown Cha Cha” and exclusive remixes by Just Plain Ant & Formula!

Tracklisting:
1 P Pulsar (Album Version) (3:23)

[BUBE-012] Crookram - Through Windows LP

Crookram - Through Windows LP
Label: Budabeats, Bankrupt Recordings
Cat. no.: BUBE-012, BAR-002
Format: 19 x File, MP3, 320 kbps
Release date: 05 Mar 2010
Genre: Electronic
Style: Downtempo, Hip Hop, Funk

A kiváló holland zeneszerző ezúttal is a lelkünkre akar hatni, ami most is működik. A sokféle elemből álló nagylemez igazi kedvence lehet a downtempo-t kedvelőknek.

Two years since his latest release on the Budabeats netlabel, Crookram is finally coming out with a new album. If you're familiar with his previous work this album might be somewhat of a surprise. It has been a couple of years in the making, during which time musical genres like soul, funk, hiphop and library music have been combined with modern downtempo beats and movie samples to create a funky yet dusty seventies vibe. You can expect scratchy records, mysterious movie samples and a great talent for production, elements which have been praised already by many people involved in the downtempo scene.
