f you think the spirit of 80s had completely gone with its music and improvised atmosphere of endless happiness, then you are wrong. It's just in front of you. And it's recreated in this debut long-play by 21-year-old bedroom producer from Russia who calls himself Audiosynthes. Several years ago he started experimenting with electro house and progressive trance music, and eventually realized that he always loved a classic disco sound. But direct copying of the style of Chic or Love & Kisses is not enough for him. Chillwave elements, space, glitch and house rhythms-all these things appear in his music. It's like going to the beach party on some distant planet where the doses of light exceeded all the possible limits, but thanks to the smiles, not the sun. This guy doesn't use any hardware, his studio is placed in one vintage PC and he doesn't make expensive photoshoots on the coast of California-he just makes the sound which bring you in eternal summer without unnecessary chemicals or air tickets. Take a trip with us. Take a trip into the depths of summer

Richard Cupolo (Glass Gifts) has been recording and mixing since his early high school days using cutting edge digital tech, increasing his skills and knowledge with each new tool of the trade and track of the day. Self-taught from the start, he released his debut solo effort on October 15th, 2010 to much critical acclaim. He followed this full length release with his highly popular remix of Crystal Castles' "Not In Love" ft. Robert Smith of The Cure, which was showcased by Crystal Castles on their website. His first performances were at three 2010 CMJ NYC events in the fall of 2010, where crowds were struck by his unique performance style and professional flow. From Mux Mool:
I made the first Drum EP in 2007. At that time I wasn't sure if I was going to continue making beats at all. I had only released one song, and despite how well "Lost and Found" had done, I just wasn't sure if this was the path I was going on. A good friend of mine, Medium Zach from Big Quarters suggested I challenge myself to make one beat every day for a week. I took him up on his challenge and did just that. 7 lo fi hip hop beats.

In 2010 I found myself in a similar funk, only this time I was traveling quite a bit. I decided that I wanted to challenge myself again. This time, I couldn't really do 7 songs in 7 days, and I wanted to improve in quality from the songs on the first Drum EP, but stay true to the nature of beat-making challenges. So, this EP is all songs I made while on a plane.

[rwclub 010] Biconnection - Psychotic Pop Litgh

Biconnection - Psychotic Pop Litgh
Label: Rawmatroid Netlabel
Catalog#: rwclub010
Format: 4 x File, MP3, 320 kbps
Country: Spain
Released: 31 Jul 2010
Genre: Electronic, Pop
Style: House, Synth-pop

“Psychotic Pop Light” is the San Sebastian’s duo Biconnection work presented in this tenth reference of Rawmatroid Club. Three different stories told under the same original concept, which include a version of Kino International and a cover design by Jon Garcia Rodriguez

“My Pop Machine” seduces us with its beauty from beginning to end, in an electronic mix of breaks and a personal melody hard to forget.

In “The Light You Give Me” we heard a continuous percussive rhythms that mixes melodies and arpeggiated atmospheres, perhaps the craziest track of the whole EP.

“Psychotic Happiness” is the third theme: power and a great display of energy, an entire show of positivism that makes music marked by the personality of the duo.

As a bonus, in this tenth release of Rawmatroid Club, includes a version of “My Pop Machine” by Kino International, in which preserving the essence of the original track adds the characteristic sensitivity and emotional subtlety of the also Basque artist.

Tracklisting:
1. My Pop Machine
2. The Light You Give Me
3. Psychotic Happiness

he has recently resurfaced on ghostly international with his fifth album, 'subject to shift' which continues a high quality run begun back in 1998 on his own label suction records - the shift refers to solvents emphasis on the more the rough edger tones of acid and industrial for this long player. you can pick it up here. this mix he has put together is made up of the work of fellow synth purveyors old and new. its one to enjoy again and again.

Various - Rawmatroid Puzzle For Arts Sake
Label: Rawmatroid Netlabel
Catalog#: rwclub009
Format: 18 x File, MP3, 320 kbps, Compilation, Unmixed
Country: Spain
Released: 01 Mar 2010
Genre: Electronic
Style: Electro, IDM, Synth-pop, Techno

On March 1, 2008, came to light Rawmatroid, an electronic music netlabel created for share freely and for free over the Internet. Since the publication of our first EP, it’s been 2 years of good teamwork, of bringing together young artists and of pursuing little dreams. 24 months thar were long enough for much and where have converged 11 references, a dozen producers, 3 graphic designers, 2 visual artists, and 2 showcases where people could enjoy and have fun with the magic of Rawmatroid live.

Today we celebrate these 2 years in a very special way: collecting a series of tracks that show the spirit that we want to transmit from this netlabel. We talk about music without hang-ups, independent, personal and creative that can be shared and enjoyed in the absence of prejudice. 18 tracks with 18 different perspectives, in which each of the artists that make up this VVAA shows their own personal understanding of electronic music.

Today, 2 years later, in Rawmatroid we continue with the same enthusiasm with which we started the project, and with even more desire to continue to share good music with the world. To the musicians, listeners, websites, designers, photographers, visual artists, clubs… and all of those who in some way or another way are part of and you believe in Rawmatroid: Many thanks! We keep going.

FACT mix 126: Space Dimension Controller

FACT

mix 126: Space Dimension Controller

The alter ego of 19-year-old Belfast-dweller Jack Hamill, Space Dimension Controller has only released one single to date, ‘The Love Quadrant’, but it was one of the most distinctive and compelling debuts of 2009, earning a place in FACT’s Top 100 Tracks of that year. Inhabiting a wistful, pop-psychedelic but low-end-savvy world somewhere between house, electro and techno-funk, with vocals coming courtesy of Jack’s girlfriend Kat,  ‘The Love Quadrant’ marked the arrival of a serious and singular talent.
Since then we’ve had the pleasure of hearing several more SDC productions, and they’re all top-notch. Hamill puts real love and attention into chords and harmonic composition, and boy does it pay off: imagine Prince, James Stinson and Manuel Gottsching hitting the studio together and you’ll have some idea of how sumptuous and fantastical this music is.
Space Dimension Controller’s charms haven’t gone unnoticed; Kyle Hall (whose next 12″ is out on Hyperdub) loves his sound and the pair are collaborating on new material for the Detroit house prodigy’s Wild Oats label. SDC’s next release – the Journey To The Core of The Unknown Sphere EP -  is coming out via Rotterdam’s mighty Clone Records, and features a remix of the title track by Hall.
Jack is a participant in the 2010 Red Bull Music Academy and will be playing alongside Roska, DOOM, Katy B and many more for the A Taste of Sonar event at The Roundhouse on Saturday 6 March. Then, the following day, Sunday 7 March, there’s a chance to catch him at FACT’s free Lock Tavern party, where he’ll be warming up for Rustie, MJ Cole and Joy Orbison. Arrive early to catch the man in action.
Space Dimension Controller’s FACT Mix is an adventure and a half, and the perfect introduction to his bold aesthetic, boasting no less than six of his own productions, not to mention the aforementioned Kyle Hall remix. With both youthful insouciance and a very mature sense of selection and sequencing, SDC drops tracks from Round One (Basic Channel), Mike Dehnert, Model 500, Jimmy Edgar and Drexciya-related Der Zyklus, putting his own unique stamp on them through a litany of craftily deployed loop, delay and dub effects.
Dare we say it, it’s the most warm, original and insistently funky mix we’ve hosted so far this year. Download, listen, read the interview over the page and get wise to SDC before all the fools check in.

College - A Real Hero Mix

A Real Hero, College’s brand new Ep will be released on Saturday, December 19th in limited edition vinyl format , hand numbered  to 300 copies on the Belgian label Flexx. This new disc is the result of several artistic and precious collaborations first off with Flexx, who since the Ep of Stephen Falken, supports our work in a remarkable way. Then with Electric Youth who gives me the immense honor to share the title of the main track. Finally, with The Zonders who have agreed to follow the vision so patiently, which I wished to develop around Ep.  A continuation of the theme set out on Teenage Color and Secret Diary,  A Real Hero is, this time, the mirror of my obsession with the graphic and sound approach of the TV themes. It’s the typography of the series titles, the aerial views over Chicago or Los Angeles that inspire my imagination and my music. To celebrate this event I offer you a continuation of the series of mixes revealed during the release of the previous EP’s from College. Merry christmas to all!

(NS 005) Apsis Lappet - Suite Happy Sweet

Apsis Lappet - Suite Happy Sweet
Label: No-Source Netlabel
Catalog#: NS005
Format: File, MP3, 192kbps
Country: US
Released: 28 Dec 2009
Genre: Electronic, Pop
Style: Synth-pop, Experimental

Experimental lo-fi synth pop. Apsis Lappet is the solo project of Texas native Nate Kitchens. His music is as catchy as it is non-conventional. Listening to Apsis Lappet's debut, Suite Happy Sweet, I'm hit with waves of nostalgia. These songs are the songs created inside of my daydreams as a child. Kitchens manages to recall every note as he writes the aged lyrics and crafts this EP. Spidermunkey recalls a synth punk inner city attitude while Happier Day and Mellow remind me of early Magnetic Fields. The entire EP is mixed continuously without break, evoking a stream of consciousness or a dream-like state of mind.
