Not only live performed, also live improvised is the new modularfield release by the crew of Open Snyth. The Project was founded back in 2009. Born from the wish to present electronic music live, an open stage for live acts was founded in Hannover. An important part of this periodical evening were the joint jam-sessions with the restricion to pure hardware equipment. This was the foundation of the “Open Synth” project. The group consists of 5 musicians, each one having their own musical background, who have been organizing and creating several projects in Hannover (from parties, decoration & visuals to DJing and live-performances). They are: Andi Arbeit, Baumfreund, Matei, Taschenrechnermusikant and Wenzel. Join them on this wonderful piece of live improvised music by the name of “snapshot in time” or as we call it here in germany: Momentaufnahmen .

(WWPL 02) When Ee Play Live – New Delhi FM

When Ee Play Live – New Delhi FM
Cat#: WWPL02
Released: 25 Jan 2010

New Delhi FM, founded in Stuttgart in 2001, is a music project by Sandro Boege, who now lives in Cologne.

Sandro’s music was initially best described as IDM, but he never actively or consciously set himself any stylistic limits. His range has meanwhile expanded to include elements of dub techno, IDM and ambient, and sometimes a combination of all three. An important first step towards this fusion was his album “Row By”, released in 2008 through net label “Der kleine grüne Würfel”. While in the shape of CD and net label releases New Delhi FM is music you would mainly listen to at home, Sandro’s live sets focus heavily on adapting his music to a club setting without stripping it of its more ethereal elements. He makes a point of keeping his live sets as spontaneous and improvised as possible. Instead of mainly pre-sequenced tracks they consist of everything from free motifs drawn from a sound pool created specifically for the purpose to tracks that are just similar enough to the original to remain recognisable to the listener. As a live set of this type specifies only a vague order of tracks and is otherwise subject to as few rules and limitations as possible, no set is like the other. This approach requires more work and concentration both in preparation and when performing, but the result feels more exciting and organic for artist and audience alike.
Sandro Boege is currently focusing on completing new solo material, but also collaborates with a Cologne collective in the field of audio/visual art and two bands from Cologne. A new New Delhi FM album is planned for the first half of 2010.

Country: Germany
Released: 19 Jan 2010
Genre: Electronic
Style: Downtempo, Dub Techno

Written-By, Producer - Alexander Waldmann

Dubby moods, harmonic melody fields embedded in a warm and bright electronic landscape. There’s only a few words to describe it: “The calm before the storm”. The track „Hop“ takes us on a journey to wide yellow oker cornfields where the melodies are floating around like the wind. Sometimes ruff, but always as deep as it gets, maybe like a slow motion ride on a dusty desert highway, that’s the mood of „Pianophil“. And finally he lets the journey end like in the cover at the atlantic ocean coast of france. Leaving us behind with a feeling of cosy happiness, rather than what the technical name of the track „Diaprojektion“ suggests. „Die Ruhe vor dem Strom“ is the third release of „Taschenrechnermusikant“ on modularfield. Feel free to check out the other EP´s called „Von Herzen“ and „Gurkenglas“. You can find them in our DCC Back catalogue on our web side. The cover artwork of this release was designed by our dear friend Sebastian Verfürth, who also took th

(MDF 04) So I´m Jo – Entrevoir

So I´m Jo – Entrevoir
Label: Modularfield
Catalog#: MDF04
Format: File, MP3, 320
Country: Germany
Released: 21 July 2009
Genre: Electronic
Style: Disco, Electro, Synth-pop
All Tracks Written and Produced by: Glen Cassidy (Vocals & Instruments) & Damon Cameron (Instruments)
Cover Design by: Farbfundament

Sydney based electro-disco duo So I’m Jo are Damon Cameron and Glen Cassidy. The sound of this record is a result of many winters and summers trying things, summarised in a productive 2008 with these 6 tunes in particular. They represent adventure and discovery and the beauty of making mistakes.

Influenced as much by the bright fuzz of the disco as it is by the craft of song, Entrevoir is a chance to test, and learn, and then do it again. Using a not so secret recipe of ideas, machines, instruments and error, there is no mystery to this record, just the inspiration from so many different people to be themselves, So I’m Jo.

After spending a lot of time in his Studio by working at his skills as Producer and Live Artist now it is the right moment for Oeler to return with a new Distribution on his first Label Modularfield.
